Rolex – GMT Master II – “Batgirl”- 40 mm – Oystersteel – Jubilee – Black Dial
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date GMT Master’s story started in 1954, and the watches were designed in collaboration with Pan American Airways for their pilots and navigators to use. The watches were created to navigate in two different time zones. The GMT Master II was created in 1982, and in 2019 the Rolex GMT Master II with the reference 126710BLNR (also referred to as ‘The Batgirl’ simply because of its blue and black ceramic bezel, its black dial and Jubilee bracelet) was introduced.
This 40 mm GMT Master II is made from Oystersteel, fitted onto a Jubilee bracelet. It comes with a bi-directional rotating bezel with an arrow-tipped hand, which functions as a second hour hand that rotates every 24 hours. Its power comes from the self-winding caliber 3285, and this movement allows travellers to easily adjust their local time by winding the crown without stopping the watch or affecting the 24-hour time hand.
